Aaron Quist returned home from his mission in 2000, which has given him plenty of time to contemplate being an RM. He decided to start a new blog to not only ease, but maximize the transition back to civilian life for recently returned missionaries. It’s called The RMTC, or Returned Missionary Training Center.
Makes perfect sense. We have plowed the wisdom of generations of missionary work into our Missionary Training Center, but when our youth return home after their service, we give them a handshake and wish them all the best. Maybe what we really need is a post-MTC. But until then, at least there’s the RMTC blog.
Originally from Arizona, Aaron now lives in Southern California with his wife and two children, where he practices law.
A Fire Still Burning Brandon Flowers is a young rock star with a wife and kids. While most of us may not be rock stars, many of the challenges he faces in juggling his work and family life may strike a chord.
We’ve admired you Mormon mommies for taking the lead in the blogosphere.
We may not be as plentiful, prolific or pretty, but we Mormon daddies are out there, too. We're just a little harder to find, is all.
MormonDaddyBlogs.com is dedicated to finding and encouraging the fledgling blogging efforts of Mormon dads.
Their blogs needn't be perfect. They needn't have it all figured out. They needn't even be about anything overtly "Mormon." Let us take heart from one another's efforts to keep the faith while keeping our families together and food on the table.
If you know of a blog that seems like it might a good fit for Mormon Daddy Blogs, we'd love to hear about it. Use our handy dandy submission form.
