Hello. My name is Dennis A (“Hi, Dennis”), and I am a closet reader of Mormon mommy blogs. Our female counterparts are working it out and my hat is off to them. They’re not trying to change the world. They’re just fighting the good fight in an honest, win some/lose some kind of way. Which is refreshing. And inspiring. And, in so doing, in their own way, they are changing the world. A post at a time.
I also blog. Not very often, and even when I do, it’s usually not very much. Yet with each post I’ve written, I’ve sensed that there were others out there like me: Mormon dads who weren’t necessarily blogging about theology (not that there’s anything wrong with that – it’s just that there are already plenty of those out there) or politics (ditto), but instead were just blogging about our imperfect efforts to keep food on the table while keeping our faith and keeping our families together. None of which is an easy trick these days.
But if there were others out there, they weren’t easy to find. Which made me think about starting Mormon Daddy Blogs, an effort to find and share their blogs in the hopes of encouraging more of that kind of behavior. So read on and enjoy. Maybe tell a friend or post a link to our home page. And if you know of a blog that might be a good fit, please send a link my way.
I confess the research into the parental status or even the “Mormonness” of the bloggers featured here will be sketchy. If it seems like a good fit, it’s in. (And if such crack research has resulted in your blog erroneously being mentioned here and you’d rather it not be, let me know and I’ll remove it.)
So, my good men, how goes the battle?
